FAN CLUB ASSOCIATION for all your favourite celebrities & stars - Fan Club | Fanzines | Fan Sites | Official Fan Clubs | Unofficial Fan Clubs .... they're all here !!
Q. What's the score with FanClub.org.uk ? A. It's quite simple really - we are a Fan Club for Fan Clubs, and our website has information about stuff and things, objects and people, celebrities and stars, with info, pictures and videos of your favourite shows, films, bands, artists etc. Sometimes, if it's a singer or group we appreciate then there might be a discography or list of their greatest hits. A movie star or tv actor may have info on their film appearances, plus there may be a complete section about one film in particular if it warrants a fan club page of it's own. There's no boundaries what might be included on the fan club website and it get's updated regularly so check back often to see any new fan club pages we add as we trawl the web looking for inspiration. Remember, you can add a link to your own fanclub ….
The Fan Club Society is a portal to information about your favourite things, whether it's celebrities, music, television, entertainment, movies or sport. It's a network of official and unofficial fanclub websites, online fanzines, fan pages and fan sites about anything and everything that has a following. A fan page on our site could include pictures, videos, news, links to online forums, and more. A fan page could be about something or someone. A fanclub page for a person will usually have some background info on them, their age, when and where they were born, any awards they may have won, possibly a discography of their hit singles if they're a singer, musician or band, or a filmography and information on their screen appearances if they're an actor or actress. If it's a person we try to include a biography and if it's an item we do our best to get information on it's history and development. We're a fan club community and invite visitors to contribute photos and info to improve our pages, and if you run your own fanclub we’re happy to feature you on our site.
There’s no conundrum to solve, it’s simple really
Brains + Beauty = Rachel Riley
Rachel Annabelle Riley was born 11 January 1986 and is an English television presenter best known for being a co-presenter on Countdown on Channel 4 and The Gadget Show on Channel 5. Rachel was also a participant in the eleventh series of Strictly Come Dancing, where she was the 5th contestant to be eliminated from the show on 3 November 2013 - a travesty of justice in our view.
Born in Rochford, Essex, to an accountant father Christopher and his wife Celia (she also has a younger brother, Alex), she is a keen supporter of Manchester United. Rachel describes herself as a "non-religious" Jew, and was brought up in the Thorpe Bay area of Southend-on-Sea. She was educated at the independent Thorpe Hall School, and Southend High School for Girls, a grammar school, where she obtained four As at A-Level. She then read mathematics at Oriel College, Oxford, gaining an upper second-class honours degree.
Before she appeared on Countdown, she did an internship in The City at Deutsche Bank during a university vacation, but did not like the experience, explaining that she "..simply didn’t like the environment..", and after university worked as an analyst for a price-comparison website.
Countdown
In January 2009, Rachel Riley replaced Carol Vorderman as the co-host of Countdown doing the letters and numbers selection and demonstrating her genius at mathematics solutions. She currently hosts the show alongside Nick Hewer who joined Countdown in January 2012. Rachel has co-presented over 1,000 episodes of Countdown. Riley was encouraged to apply for the Countdown position by her mother. She did not have an ambition to be a television presenter, but decided to apply because she was interested in the numbers part of the game. She was chosen from more than a thousand applicants despite having no television experience. In an article for BBC News, she said, "There's only one cool maths job around and I was lucky enough to get it so I'm absolutely thrilled". She began presenting Countdown alongside Jeff Stelling from 12 January 2009. In an interview in August 2009, Riley revealed that it had been difficult for her to step into Vorderman's shoes. Her 1,000th episode was shown on 25 June 2013, where she was presented with a signed shirt and a bunch of flowers by Manchester United player Ryan Giggs who had celebrated his 1,000th football pitch appearance the same year. Rachel also does the letters and numbers rounds on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, an alternative comic version of the show that screens later at night.
The Gadget Show
Rachel Riley has also been a presenter on the Channel 5 programme The Gadget Show. She co-hosted the programme with Jason Bradbury. Her first series (series 19), was shown for nine episodes from 3 June 2013. Her second series (series 20) began on 14 October 2013 and continued for 22 episodes. Her third and final series (series 21) began on 24 February 2014 for 9 episodes. Rachel left The Gadget Show after presenting three series of the programme. She was replaced by ex-Olympic gold medal winner Amy Williams.
Strictly Come Dancing
From September 2013, Rachel Riley appeared in the eleventh series of the BBC One ballroom dancing programme Strictly Come Dancing with professional dancing partner Pasha Kovalev. She was eventually eliminated on 3 November, after losing out in the dance-off against Abbey Clancy and Aljaž Skorjanec.
